Overview: Over the past several months, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has endangered the health and economic well-being of millions of individuals throughout the United States, exacerbating longstanding barriers to good health and employment opportunities. Communities of color have been particularly hard hit, widening existing disparities. Many cities have been advancing innovative approaches to spur job creation, employment, and economic opportunity including through their COVID-19 initiatives.
Join us for a discussion with city leaders and partners that will focus on efforts underway rooted in expanding entrepreneurship, social enterprise and anchor institution approaches – including through the use and analysis of data and technology. This discussion is in conjunction with a new Request for Proposals (RFP) to cities to join our upcoming Mayors’ Institute on Job Creation and Economic Opportunity to Advance Health and Equity.
